The refreshment kiosk at Ruddington does good trade with ice creams prior to a summer storm setting in as Brunswick green 50007 passes bringing up the rear of the 1330 Ruddington-Loughborough, hauled by 37075 on 21/07/03. |
50015 is seen through the tunnel between Bury Bolton Street station and the loco depot on 29/06/2010. |

On 25th March 2006 50049 & 50031 arrive at Derby with a Cardiff-Redmire railtour, the sun dropped into a blue hole just as the last coaches passed me, my usual luck with 50s... |

On 24th June 2007 50049 hauls 1Z54 1710 Melton Mowbray-Tyseley across the River Trent viaduct at Trent South Jn, a GWR Hall steam loco was on the rear. The sun never came out here, but never went in on the power station! |

D9000 Royal Scots Grey calls at Derby with 1M67 1753 Newcastle-Birmingham New Street on 05/12/98. I took this shot on Fuji 100asa slide film without a filter and the original has a yellow/green cast which i've tried to correct in photoshop, but as yet i'm still a novice at such things so it could be better i'm sure.. |

55002 & D9016 stand inside Doncaster works in 1968.... Well maybe not, this is Loughborough Brush works on 14/04/1999 and 55002 & D9016 are side by side being overhauled back to main line standard. Both locos however never really faired brilliantly after leaving Brush. 55002 did not have its work completed and eventually returned to the NRM, D9016
returned to the main line in the "purple monster" Porterbrook livery, but had an exhaust fire as soon as it left the works, after further attention it did return to hauling main line excursions but has since been retired again and can now be found at Peak Rail, Matlock. |

D9009 departs Butterley at the Midland Railway Centre on 27/03/99 with the 1002 Hammersmith-Riddings during the Spring diesel gala. |
D9009 crosses Dalmally viaduct at the Eastern end of Loch Awe on the rear of the 0505 Fort William-Oban-Fort William on 25/06/03, part of the DPS Freedom of Scotland tour. |
After an overnight drive, through Glen coe with numerous deer crossing the road in front of the car with one or two near misses, a memorable journey was topped with finding this view overlooking Morar with D9009 & 55016 working the DPS Freedom of Scotland tour, 25/06/03. |
Hauling the DPS 'Freedom of Scotland' charter on 25/06/2003, 55019 blasts off from Glenfinnan viaduct on the Mallaig-Fort William leg of the days itineray which start at Fort William at 0505 then took in Mallaig and Oban before returning to the Fort. D9009 is on the rear. I can still feel the midges biting now, but well worth it for a blue Deltic on Glenfinnan viaduct, this being a rare view as no charters ever operate at the right time of day for this angle usually. |
D9016 stands at Derby on 30/12/02 with 1Z65 0746 Derby-Carlisle charter. |
Porterbrook purple deltic 9016 passes Chevin with 1Z58 0538 Watford Jn-York charter on 12/04/03. |
D9016 waits to depart Rowsley South, Peak Rail on 12/05/07 with the 1702 to Matlock Riverside. |
D9016 stands in the platform at Darley Dale on the Peak Rail preserved line during an EMRPS photo charter on 10/11/07. |
Hauling the DPS 'Freedom of Scotland' charter on 25/06/2003, D9009 comes off the Southern viaduct in the Horseshoe curve between Bridge of Orchy and Tyndrum and starts the climb to County March Summit. This part of the charter started ex Fort William at 0505 then took in Mallaig and Oban before returning to the Fort. 55019 is on the rear. This wasn't my planned composition, I was taking the view in landscape format with the Northern viaduct in the pic at top left, but as the train came off the viaduct the light suddently died from the left and we were lucky to get anything, note the shadow on the ballast at bottom left... |
