Class 58's

58 A class 58 heads towards Toton at Barrow on Trent in the late 90s with an MGR bound for Ratcliffe.
58001 at Stapleford 58001 passes Stapleford just North of Toton with 7C52 1521 Thoresby-Drakelow on 07/08/96.
58002 at Toton Jn 58002 still with its front end adornements from a railtour the previous month, passes Toton Jn on 12/10/1996 with 7A15 1332 Doe Hill-Ratcliffe coal.
58005 at Toton Jn 58005 departs Toton on 02/07/93 with a loaded MGR for Ratcliffe, the train has just taken the up high level goods line at Toton Jn.
58009 at Trent East Jn 58009 pulls away from a signal check at TT222 signal Trent East Jn with 7Z82 0653 Gascoigne Wood-Ironbridge on 12/11/93. A shot never to be repeated, The 58 has gone, the old MGR wagons in serious decline, the loading point at Gas Wood passed into history recently and the location is now out of bounds to the public too.
58014 Barrow on Trent 58014 passes the popular spot of Barrow on Trent on the Sheet Stores-Stenson line, with a cheery wave from the driver on 08/09/98. The train was the 7D52 1205 Milford-Willington PS which had briefly re-opened for rail traffic prior to complete closure.
58019 & 58029 at Stanton Gate 58019 & 58029 double head the 6Z21 0900 Toton-Worksop empty MGR through Stanton Gate on the morning of 27/04/00, Sandiacre church is on the hill and the view of this is now blocked by growth on the trees.
58025 at Stanton Gate 58025 passes Stanton Gate just north of Toton on the remains of the Mapperley branch which runs from Stanton pipe works to Sandiacre, the name of the branch is taken from the original end of the line, Mapperley colliery. The train is 8T01 1230 Stanton-Toton conveying pipes for export to Peru via Tees Dock, 2 seperate trips from Stanton would be formed into one train at Toton and taken forward to Tees dock the next morning.
58028 at Stanton Gate 58028 stands within an engineers possession at Stanton Gate just North of Toton on 28/03/99, it had arrived on site as the 8B11 2200 (27/03) from Sandiacre.
58030 arrives at Toton 58030 passes Stapleford & Sandiacre on arrival at Toton with 7A14 0916 Clipstone-Ratcliffe on 09/03/98, this view is from the A52 road bridge looking North.
58046 at Sawley 58046 ASFORDBY MINE is seen crossing the bridge over the Erewash canal at Sawley as it approaches Sheet Stores Jn near Long Eaton on 09/06/97, the train is 7A11 0820 Nadins-Ratcliffe.
58047 at Ratcliffe Power station 58047 passes around the discharge loop at Ratcliffe Power Station on 21/07/00 with a train ex Oxcroft.
58047 Stanton ironworks 58047 draws out of Stanton ironworks amidst the scrap on 04/03/00, running as 8T01 1130 to Toton conveying pipes for export to Peru. I always wanted to return here and get a class 37 but the train never ran in good conditions with a 37 at the right time for me.
58047 at Burton on Trent 58047 sits on the up goods line at Wetmore, Burton on Trent on the early morning of 15/08/02 with 6D36 0550 Bescot-Burton. 60033 can be seen arriving in the distance on a Bescot-Chaddesden spoil train which can be seen in the class 60 section.
58049 at Derby 58049 has just arrived at Derby via the Erewash valley after rescuing the last London-Sheffield MML HST which ran out of fuel in the Chesterfield area, lucky I was on nights and able to capture the event on film for posterity.

Class 59's

59201 Cossington 59201 passes Cossington in early morning winter light on 27/02/99 with a 1Z45 0634 Sheffield-Trowbridge charter./
59201 59201 stands at Toton on 20/04/10 with a coal service for Ratcliffe that emanated from Liverpool BT the previous day but owing to unloading problems at Ratcliffe, it sat in this spot for 24hrs. I believe this was the first working of a class 59 into Ratcliffe./
