Met Camm unit A green Metro-Cammel class 101 unit departs Perth on 01st May 1965 on a train to Dundee. This view is no longer possible due to the growth of vegetation and new building works.
47079 It's days as celebrity GWR green liveried G.J.Churchward now over, de-named Trainload construction liveried 47079 comes to the rescue of an ailing HST at Newton Abbott on 04/06/88.
37427 37427 in Trainload Construction livery departs Millerhill yard, Edinburgh with cement tanks.
47470 47470 arrives from the North into Newcastle Central on the 29th April 1978.
47219 47219 unofficially named "Sandpiper" passes Lackenby grids/Grangetown at the head of 4L64 Wilton FLT-Stratford FLT on 08/05/91, BSC Lackenby is visibile in the background.
37509/358 37509 & 37358 trundle along the Boulby branch with a single wagon from British Steel Skinningrove on 01/11/90.
45063 45063 passes Milnbridge with empty parcels vans returning to Manchester Redbank sidings in April 1980.
47564 47564 "Colossus" passes South Bank on 29/04/91 with a steel bloom trip from BSC Lackenby to Tees Yard.
37111 37111 "Glengarnock" passes Golf Street near Carnoustie with a 6A15 Mossend-Aberdeen conveying empty timber wagons, date unknown. This loco was saved for preservation and whilst at Barrow Hill awaiting restoration, was purchased by DRS in May 2001 and sent for an overhaul at DML Devonport which was then abandoned and the bodyshell was cut by EMR at Kingsbury in July 2003.
56119 Large logo blue liveried 56119 passes Eaglescliffe with an MGR from York yard on 20/09/91.
252001 Prototype HST set 252001 is seen at a special event at Shildon in 1978, no problems with the H&SEin those days obviously! Can you imagine an event nowadays where you could stan don the track adjacent to an open running line??.
47457 With its Stratford white roof, BR blue liveried 47457 stands at the Buffer stops at Kings Lynn after arriving with an express from London Liverpool Street on 29/07/85.
110 unit A class 110 DMU departs from Todmorden after setting down several passengers as a class 101 unit arrives from the oppsite direction, 22/08/84.
Eastfield TMD Amongst a large collection of locos stabled at the East end of Glasgow Eastfield TMD on 03/07/79 are 20089, 25202, 08227 and 27110.
31180/294 31180 & 31294 run into Eaglescliffe with 6M60 Tees Yd-Peak Forest cement empties on 05/07/91.
45124 45124 is seen near Clough Jn on the Trans-pennine route whilst working a Liverpool-Scarborough service during winter in the early eighties.
Peak at Standedge A peak class 45/1 on a Trans-Pennine service is about to enter Standedge tunnel in the Pennines, if only trains such as this existed regularly on such scenic routes now.
40028 40028 passes Marsden working an Eastbound trans-pennine working, date unknown.
40122 40122 is seen with a Leeds-Carlisle working at the Southern end of the S&C, date unknown.
37517 37517 passes South Bank on Teeside working a Lackenby-Hardendale lime train on 18/02/91.
45070 45070 passes Stratford station with a mixed freight on 07/10/86.
Forth Bridge A large logo liveried class 47 crosses the Forth rail bridge and approaches North Queensferry with an Edinburgh-Aberdeen working on 19/05/1990.
37415 37415 trundles along the Boluby branch near Brotton on 13/11/1990 with a loaded train for Tees yard.
37379 37379 passes Cargo Fleet in lovely winter light with a Middlesbrough-Boulby potash trip. January 1992.
8136 & 8016 BR blue 8136 & green 8016 depart Stapleford and Sandiacre sidings adjacent to Toton TMD with a loaded mineral train on 10/05/1973, note how there are no lines of stored locos in front of the shed like there is now!
8301 & 8023 Green 8023 & Br blue 8301 pass Stapleford immediately North of Toton yards with a a loaded coal train believed to have emanated from the Kirkby area on 14/06/1972, note the industrial skyline provided by Stanton ironworks which has now all closed and also the colour lights on the gantry which have route indicators for movements into the now lifted Stanton Gate up sidings. photo: PR Collection.
1806 Trent South Jn BR blue liveried 1806 (47325) passes Trent South Jn with 6D59 Ratcliffe-Toton MGR empties on 16/05/73.
37417 37420 What would you give to go back in time and do this shot? The mega pairing of 37417 & 37420 pass Brotton on 20/07/1990 with 6P66 Middlesbrough-Boulby empties.
40082 The driver of 40082 opens the power handle wide as this unidentified train rounds Queensville curve South of Stafford. Date unknown.
